Website Alert!

Ok guys, so I found a site that is incredible! You've heard of Bag Borrow Steal but now there is the dress equivalent! Rent the Runway (RTR) is a site that offers amazing dresses for all occasions, from the best designers such as Catherine Malandrino, Badgley Mischka, Herve Leger, Tracy Reese, Christian Siriono, and many others. Want to know the best thing of all, ready for it, the prices range from $50-$200!!!! Are you kidding me!?!?!? How awesome is that. I can't wait to try it out.

1. Browse through our array of A-list designers and find a dress you love. Or two!
2. Schedule a delivery date, and your dress will appear on your doorstep. Next-day and even same-day delivery (if you live in NYC) is available, for last-minute wardrobe crises. And we’ll send you a second, back-up size—just to be safe.
3. Put your dress in our handy pre-paid packaging and drop in the nearest mailbox (we take care of the drycleaning!).

Be advised, there is a wait list. So hurry and add your name to the list!!

Website Alert!

While online this morning I came across this fabulous website Covet.com, who's mantra is "shop without sin"(love this!), which features a stylzer option that is like your own personal shopper! As seen in the pages of the fashionasta handbooks such as Lucky Magazine, Glamour, and InStyle, this is an option you'll love! You start by selecting which celebrity style options best match your personable style. Let me tell you, they hit the nail on the head with me! Sporty Eclectic is my style profile made of a mixture of conservative and minimalist.

"Sporty Eclectic: swingy skirts paired with white tees and
eclectic accessories signal your
easy-going indie spirit. your style is almost indefinable, diverse with the
focus on personal comfort. you can set trends without even
trying."
" Sporty Conservative: you live for comfort.
soft fabrics and simple design elements comprise your everyday look. you mix and
match your beloved basics with contemporary pieces to create a personal style
all your own. "
"Sporty Minimalist: up-to-date and a
little athletic, you've cultivated a style that suits your simple
sophistication. jeans fill your closet and your talent lies in pairing chic
outerwear and well-designed accessories to complete your basic
ensembles."

You'll receive emails as often as you chose with options that fit your style. So for those of you that hate shopping (blasphemy!) this is a no muss no fuss option!

Designer Spotlight: Christian Louboutin

In my first designer spotlight, i chose impeccable French designer Christian Louboutin. Those famed and highly sought after red soled pumps are enough to make any woman with a shoe fetish salivate! The sultry, undeniably sexy lines give any women's body a sexy upgrade. Slipping into a pair gives an instant boost in self confidence making you feel as if you can conquer the world. I have only been able to feel this surge of confidence for a brief time (while at a window shopping trip in Saks, the sales lady hated me!) but it was a memorable moment that replays nightly in my dreams!

Here are a few of my favorites:

How Has Sex Rocked Your World?

So we all know that SATC 2 is coming to a theatre near you in the new year, so i wanted to pose a question. How has SATC influenced your life?

I often, unintentionally, find myself watching the series and movie when i need that extra bit of motivation to try something new. Admittedly, i'm usually all talk, but i am confident that with time (and increased income) i will become the unpredictable, fashionasta with an unyeilding quest for love that i like to think i am. Althought i'm not a Carrie or Samantha at heart, (gotta say, i pretty happy about not being a Samantha, some things should be kept private!) the Charlotte in me is ready to come out.

Game Night!

Call me a geek if you want, but nothing is more fun than planning a game night when it's too cold to go out. Getting together a group of friends and/or family for games (I've found 4 to 6 to be a good crowd) is an easy way to achieve instant fun! Games like Taboo, Scrabble, Poker or other card games, or the Scene It! series or other DVD games offer a night of loud, fun! The addition of a bottle of wine or two will only enhance the evening!

Fall Home Decor

Not only are fall fashions exciting, I love decorating my home to follow the seasons! Falls earth tones are warm and inviting, and make me feel at home. Tips to celebrate this time of year include:

  1. Natural Decorations. Fill a clear glass jar or decorative bowl with fallen leaves, pine cones, twigs, acorns, dried fruits and my favorite whole nuts in their shell.
  2. Utilize the fruits and vegetables of the season! Be sure to visit your local farmers market great seasonal finds, such as pomegranates, clementines, gourds, and etc, to cook with and decorate your home. (The fruit will also give off a fragrant inviting aroma to your home!)
  3. Smell is key! Those warm, spicy aromas not only make you feel at home but also gives you the illusion of physical warmth during those cold days and chilly nights. Make your on potpourri with dried flowers, nuts, cinnamon sticks, whole clove, allspice berries, and star anise.
  4. Wreath it up! Make your own wreaths from rosemary, leaves, feathers, etc, that reflect the colors of the season.
  5. Flower Power! Always, always, always fill your home with fresh fragrant flowers. They help to soften and warm your home.

What's your dream?

When i awoke this morning, bright eyed and bushy tailed (literally, you should see my hair in the morning!), I couldn't get this blog off my mind. This blog could be the door opening to my dreams coming true. So, if it is, what is my dream? What make me excited to get out of bed in the morning? Honestly, tv. True. I love food network, hgtv, fine living, diy, style network (circa 2003), travel channel, etc. I adore "lifestyle" programs. My dream, you ask, is to work with, on , or in these networks or programs that focus on lifestyle. Samantha Brown, I want her job. Sarah Richardson, I want to be her bff. Alton Brown, I want to be my mentor. Scripps Network, make room!

While on that note, writing or researching for a lifestyle magazine would be a dream. Lucky, Bazaar, Martha Stewart, House Beautiful, Metropolitan Homes, Brides, Conde Nast Traveler, etc., all exciting options.

Now I pose a question to you, where do i start? There is nothing worse than having an idea of what you want to do but no true direction as to how to make that happen. I've been told numerous time that networking is the only way to get where you want to be, so friends, think of me if you have any contact, ideas, or suggestions!
